I am trying to figure out how to answer this equation. I have to show my work for it. 3x-5=6

Answer: x = 11/3

Add 5 to both sides.

3x=6+5

3x-5+5=6+5

Add the numbers to both sides -5+5=6+5

3x = 11

Divide both sides of the equation by the same term

3x = 11
