Square both sides

[tex](\sqrt[]{5x+1})^2=6^2[/tex]

Simplify;

[tex](\sqrt[]{5x+1})\text{ (}\sqrt[]{5x+1})=36[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} 5x+1=36 \\ 5x=36-1 \\ 5x=35 \\ \frac{5x}{5}=\frac{35}{5} \\ x=7 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, the value of x=7
