To move from the ending point to the starting point, change the signs of where you moved. You move 3 units to the left and 9 units to the right. Since we are moving left and right, we only change the x-value. 

Starting at -5, moving 3 to the left gets us -8. The moving 9 to the right gets up 1

So the starting point is (1,0)
