[tex] {3}^{4} \times {3}^{ - 9} = {3}^{4} \times (1/ {3}^{9}) = {3}^{4} \div {3}^{9} \\ {3}^{(4 - 9)} = {3}^{ - 5} = 1/( {3}^{5} )[/tex]
So the 2nd answer is correct: 1 / 3^5
