x³ + 8 :

Apply  sum of cubes rule :

x³ + y³ = ( x + y )( x² - 2x + 4 ) =

x³ + 8 =  ( x + 2 )( x² - 2x + 2² )  = 

refine :

x³ + 8 =  ( x + 2 )( x² - 2x + 4 )
